Darien is a beautiful residential community located in Fairfield County, Connecticut just 35 miles from New York City. With a population of nearly 20,000 people, Darien covers approximately 14.9 square miles that includes waterfront properties, in town living and hillside estates and horse farms. Originally part of Stamford, Darien became Middlesex Parish in 1737. It was then incorporated as the Town of Darien in 1820.
Situated between Stamford and Norwalk, Darien bodes two railroad stations - Noroton Heights and Darien - that link the town to Grand Central Terminal in New York City and the rest of the New Haven Line. For recreation, the town includes four small parks, two public beaches on Long Island Sound, several country clubs, yacht clubs and a hunt club.
